On this long overdue podcast episode, Mango and I discuss our final three races of 2009 as well as our first race of 2010, the Hangover Classic 10K in Salisbury, MA. To round out 2009 we both did a Turkey trot. I was lucky enough to meet Team Hoyt at the Gobble Gobble 10K in Southbridge, MA. Then Justin and I met up with some friends in Northampton, MA for the Mayor Higgins Hot Chocolate Run.
It was a great end to the 2009 season.

Justin AND I were both lucky enough to start off 2010 with 10K PRs in Salisbury. In this episode we also discuss our running and training goals for 2010.

After our respective New Year’s Day 10K PRs - how did we celebrate? By jumping in the Atlantic Ocean of course. Video below shows our SECOND dip in the frigid waves:

***UPDATE - In this episode recorded earlier this week, we discuss our upcoming Hyannis Marathon plans. In the brief period of time between when this was recorded and when we posted, the Hyannis Marathon filled up and registration was closed. So, Justin and I are now both signed up (PAID AND REGISTERED) for the Half at the Hampton Half Marathon instead. It’s amazing to me how quickly races are filling up now. First lesson of 2010, register early.***

This episode we discuss <a href="http://www.runfasterdaddy.com" "target=_blank">RunFasterDaddy’s marathon experience and the lessons he learned. <a href="http://mangorunner.wordpress.com" "target=_blank">Mango talks about his first ever ultra-marathon, the <a href="http://www.gaconline.net/scmain.html" "target=_blank">Stone Cat 50 miler. We talk about training plans, the comfort they provide, and the changes we are making. I am adding more mileage and more distance on long runs, and Mango is returning to the <a href="http://www.runfasterdaddy.com/book-reviews/the-marathon-method-by-tom-holland/" "target=_blank">Tom Holland method so that he can take advantage of the cross-training days and focus on triathlons more next season. Lastly we discuss some of the great runners we are meeting. Last week we had a tweetup with John from the <a href="http://runnewengland.blogspot.com/" "target=_blank">Run New England podcast. Check out his <a href="http://runnewengland.blogspot.com/2009/11/run-new-england-episode-15.html" "target=_blank">video and see our ugly mugs around 5:48. Also, we discuss the great listener feedback we’ve received about the different types of podcasts that we’ve put out. Our decision, we going to continue to do both. Those of you liking the Medical Geek format, rest assured, we’re going to keep them coming.
